I work as a professional photographer, with clients that include Environ Skin Care Institute - see more at www.environ.co.za. Local Plastic Surgeon, Dr Des Fernandes is changing the way the world uses Vitamin A on skin. He is a pioneer in the field, exporting creams world wide from a local factory manufacturing in Cape Town.
My photos have appeared in the "Sunday Times" newspaper of South Africa, and I planned & executed "The World's First Underwater Map Launch" in the Predator Tank at Two Oceans Aquarium, flighted on SABC2 programme "50/50" during May 2009.

I was born with a suitcase in my hand in Kampala, Uganda. My childhood was spent in Nairobi, Kenya so I am a "White African". Educated in South Africa, I graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Social Science. Since childhood I have loved traveling. I am very privileged to have lived my life in the warmth of Africa - with her beautiful people, scenery and animals.
I have been based in Cape Town since 1980 where I scuba dive in False Bay, shark cage dive to watch Mako & Blue Sharks 36km South West off the end of Cape Point, and enjoy hiking trips into our local mountains. One of my hobbies is photographing the Table Mountain Marker Stones which record the rising and setting Sun on Solstice and Equinox. Ancient people used stone alarm clocks (marker stones) to record the turning of the seasons.
There are many such sites in and around the Cape fold mountains - where the caves provided shelter, and the shoreline and wildlife provided food for the ancient people of this very ancient land. Read more about these fascinating rocks at "Archaeoastronomy" on this site.
I invite you - come and experience some adventures in South Africa - we have a very good road & air transport system (good internal flights, bus tours, car hire), our city trains and buses continue to improve (with thanks to 2010 SA Football Tournament transport infrastructure) and inter provincial trains are good if you take a 1st Class cabin on a Transnet Intercity train. If you want a world class safari traveling on a luxury train - then Rovos Rail is for you. Whale watching Simons Town - Capetourism The African "Big 5" includes the land based animals Lion + Leopard + Rhino + Elephant and Buffalo but in South Africa you can add the "Southern Right Whale" and the Great White Shark to your list of South African Big 7 game animals to view.
There are also the "Big 5 Shark species" along our coastline that you can go on a diving safari to experience! We have very sophisticated and magical venues and experiences for you to enjoy - come for a month at least! South Africa really is the world in one country - from the hot dry desserts of the western side to the moist warm tropics on the eastern side, this is an outdoor heaven with long summers (September to May) and a short winter (June to August). My unique 3-D satellite Digital Elevation Model maps are a way of sharing my travel passion with you. You are welcome to get in touch and send me your comments on the website and your map orders - Email me from Here.
My most sincere thanks to Toni Olivier & Bert Reynders and all at Joomla Open Source Software.
Also to Faiez Martin of "O2 Design" - with out whom I would not be in print, and dito to my family, friends and clients on the map.
I hope you will enjoy using these maps as much as I enjoy designing & publishing them. I wish you a safe and pleasant journey, and that you will return to Africa many times.
